How I edit

With years of practice, investment, and photography education, I’ve finally found what inspires my art. I strive for a very natural look when editing. Enhancing warm tones, true hues of greens and blues, and balanced by the right amount of grain. I tell my clients to think of the shoot as if it’s a video than an image. This way your photos feel like movie scenes, filled with emotion, movement, and unique composition.

It is so important that I communicate my value to my clients. You are investing in more than just a selection of images—but an experience. I help every step of the way from creating your custom package, multiple virtual planning sessions, mood board + timeline collaborative planning, styling + location selection guidance + sneak peaks + high quality online gallery delivered within 4-5 weeks, + so much more!

I want your experience to be tailored to you and your vision, making each shoot completely unique! Once you reach out, my pricing, information, and shoot expectations will be sent out in a simple breakdown for you. This way, I can have a better understanding of what you are looking for and we can begin planning together!

I want each photo to feel like a movie still—like you could press play on an image and a movie would begin playing. I pull a lot of my inspiration from cinematic films, taking notes on composition, styling, and colors of our favorite films and using these unique details during our shoot.

Being in front of the camera can be nerve wracking and I understand that. That’s why I’m constantly talking to you, playing music, and guiding you the entire shoot. I build off your connection and give you easy prompts to follow while also allowing space for you to be yourself.

You inspire me by the way you grab your partners hand before I even get my camera out, or the way you dip your toes in the water between shots. I notice these in-between moments and build off your genuine self to capture images full of emotion and life.

FAQ

  • In the California Bay Area! But, I can be anywhere you need me to be and love to travel.

  • Yes! If you are interested in booking in a location outside of the Bay, I'd love to expand my creativity with you.

Once you reach out about your desired location for the shoot, I will factor in all the travel expenses (flight, rental car, accommodation, compensation for time spent traveling) into your total cost so there are no hidden fees or more payments later on.

For shoots in California outside of my home base, fees will also be factored in to your total cost for locations over an hour from me.

  • I want each photo to seem like stills from a movie—like you could press play on an image and a movie would begin playing.

Think of your shoot as a video rather than an image. I give you easy prompts to follow, guiding when necessary, but allowing you to be yourself. I want your photos to feel real, emotional, raw. I make your photos feel like YOU!

  • Give me all the info about you and your vision so I can execute exactly what you are wanting out of our experience together.

When planning for the shoot, I encourage clients to include things they like doing. Bring your favorite book to the shoot, choose your favorite beach or coffee shop as your location. I want the shoot to feel like yours, not just a recreation of something thats been done many times before.

I also ask clients to send over some inspo so I can better understand their vision. From there I build off what you're wanting and usually invite you onto a pinterest board or just share photos back and forth so we both know what to expect at the shoot.

  • I usually spend about 2-5 weeks culling, editing, and selecting the best photos from our session. I spend lots of time perfecting the colors and crop of each photo, holding myself to the quickest turnaround time, while also giving your photos the time they need.

  • Yes! A non-refundable down payment and contract is required to secure your date. Then, a payment plan is sent out customized to our agreed expectations. Full amounts will be due 1 week before our session or 2 weeks before your wedding.

  • Executing a successful shoot with great attention to detail starts with our planning. Creating mood boards together, pulling inspo from movie scenes and pinterest etc. Once we set the foundation of styling, props, and location- the rest can fall into place and we can have fun while shooting!

  • Mostly I want you to wear what you're comfortable and confident in! Keep in mind, my style of shooting incorporates a lot of movement. So wearing looser/flowy pieces of clothing will be easier to move in, and photograph very well.

I suggest staying away from anything too dark or with distracting patterns/logos.

I check in with my clients beforehand and ask them to send me some ideas so I can give some input on what will look best in the location we are shooting. I also send out a pinterest outfit board to give simple examples.

If you're still having outfit decision fatigue haha, I have my own collection of vintage clothing that photographs well. I love going thrifting for specific pieces if needed as well. Let me know and I'd be happy to bring thrifted pieces of my own for you to borrow during the shoot.

  • My style prioritizes a candid, documentary style. I capture how the day actually went, intimate moments between you and your partner, and the emotions of your friends and family that you might not have seen.

During your portraits, I combine documentary and cinematic styles. Think unique compositions, deep moody colors, and intimate moments that give your photos a timeless, elegant, & romantic feel.

I get to catch all of the big and small moments you'll never forget while you enjoy your special day. When looking back at your photos I want you to feel like you're reliving the day.

I of course capture the specific/more posed photos during a small dedicated portion of the day, but for most of the day I want to be a fly on the wall. If there's anything specific you want me to capture, just ask!

  • No :) Since editing plays a huge part of my style and workflow in making my art come alive, I do not send out any raw images to my clients. The reason being I would consider those images unfinished work, which is not what you invested in.

My style just subtly enhances the natural look. Trust me... you don't want the raws!

  • We can definitely reschedule if needed, just please don't make your reschedule super last minute! If you cancel I will be super sad but will understand. The booking deposit you paid is non refundable, but if you've paid more then I will pay that portion back to you.

If you'd like to try to reschedule, please make that decision with appropriate notice :)

  • As far as weather, I'm totally down to shoot in rain, wind, or shine. We're all about authenticity around here and embracing the unpredictable. Some of my favorite shoots have been shot in the rain or crazy conditions!

I recommend keeping your date despite crazy weather- think of your favorite movie scenes in the rain or moody lighting.. we all know that one scene in The Notebook movie. Those are the scenes and movies that win Oscars.. just sayin.

If you'd like to try to reschedule, please make that decision with appropriate notice :)

  • I do not use photoshop. I only edit small things such as skin texture or unwanted distracting objects in the image. This way your photos still feel like you and maintain my natural style!
